Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar IPA Pada Siswa Kelas 8 F SMP Negeri 15 Palu

Abstract


The main problem in this study is the low student learning outcomes in understanding science concepts so that the research aims to determine the effect of applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in improving science learning outcomes for students in class 8 F of SMP Negeri 15 Palu. The purpose of this study was to improve science learning outcomes by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model to 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 15 Palu. This research was a class action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles in class 8 F students of SMP Negeri 15 Palu, with a total of 32 students consisting of 12 boys and 20 girls. In this study, data were collected through observation sheets from teacher activities in managing Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning, student activity activity sheets, and action learning outcomes tests for each cycle. The results showed that the teacher's activities in managing learning by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model were in the very good category and student activities experienced a good increase from cycle I to cycle II and were in the very good category. Based on the analysis of learning outcomes, it was obtained that student data from cycle I to cycle II experienced an increase, where the classical absorption of cycle I actions was 68.13%, and cycle II actions became 76.25% and classical completeness cycle I actions from 71.88% to 87.50% in cycle II actions. Based on the indicators of the success of this study, namely if the percentage of classical absorption is 75.00% and classical completeness is 85.00%, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can improve science learning outcomes in class 8 F students of SMP Negeri 15 Palu.
