Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Bahasa Inggris Materi Transaksional/Interpersonal Tema Home Life Pada Siswa Kelas VIII.A SMP Negeri 15 Palu Melalui Penerapan Pembelajaran Kooperatif Dengan Pendekatan Struktural Numbered Heads Together (NHT)

Abstract


The low results of learning English in class VIII.A students SMP Negeri 15 Palu became the basis for researchers to conduct research with the aim of improving English learning outcomes. Problem solving is pursued by implementing cooperative learning with the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) structural approach by following the design proposed by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. This classroom action research involved 30 students consisting of 13 boys and 17 girls in class VIII.A SMP Negeri 15 Palu for the Academic Year 2022/2023. This study uses two types of data, namely qualitative and quantitative data. Cooperative learning with the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) structural approach can improve the English learning outcomes of Grade VIII.A students SMP Negeri 15 Palu. This is evidenced by the increase in average learning outcomes from 74.94 in the first cycle action to 85.08 in the second cycle action, while classical completeness in the first cycle action of 66.66% increased to 86.66% in the second cycle action thus also the absorption of classical in the first cycle action of 74.94% increased to 85.08% in the second cycle action. Based on learning performance indicators, it can be concluded that cooperative learning with the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) structural approach can improve English learning outcomes for transactional/interpersonal material on the theme of home life in class VIII.A SMP Negeri 15 Palu and very effectively used as a teaching method in class.
