Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Bahasa Inggris Melalui Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Creative Problem Solving (CPS) Pada Kelas VIII.H SMP Negeri 15 Palu

Abstract


The main problem in this study is the low students' English learning outcomes in understanding English concepts so that the research aims to determine the effect of applying the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) Learning model in improving English learning outcomes in class VIII.H  students SMP Negeri 15 Palu. The purpose of this research is to improve English learning outcomes by applying the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model to Grade VIII.H students SMP Negeri 15 Palu. This research is a class action research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles in class VIII.H  students SMP Negeri 15 Palu with a total of 31 students consisting of 15 boys and 16 girls. In this study data was collected through observation sheets from teacher activities in managing the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) Learning model, student activity activity sheets, and action learning outcomes tests for each cycle. The results showed that the teacher's activities in managing learning by applying the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) Learning model were in the very good category and student activities experienced a good increase from cycle I to cycle II and were in the very good category. Based on the analysis of learning outcomes, it was obtained that student data from cycle I to cycle II experienced an increase, where the absorption of the classical actions of the first cycle was 73.23%, and the actions of the second cycle became 83.23% and the classical completeness of the actions of the first cycle from 64.52% became 80.65% in cycle II action. Based on the indicators of the success of this study, namely if the percentage of classical absorption is 75.00% and classical completeness is 85.00%, it can be concluded that the application of the Creative Problem Solving Learning (CPS) model can improve English learning outcomes in class VIII.H  students SMP Negeri 15 Palu.
